This summit is our chance to hear from people across our network and shape our 2026 priorities; we can’t transition Appalachia to a more sustainable and diverse economy without your input.

Every January, ReImagine Appalachia hosts the Virtual Strategy Summit to integrate stakeholder input into our workplan priorities for the following year. In 2025, expert and community participation led to the rollout of programming like our disaster resilience work, community benefits work, expanded story-telling, policy tracking and manufacturing research priorities. We hosted seven disaster resiliency events as of this December, connecting communities to mini-grants, support systems, and mitigation tactics

On the manufacturing front, we released a groundbreaking online manufacturing research tool, six in-depth reports on how the region can grow its sustainable economy, and 12 free educational events. We will have hosted seven disaster resiliency events as of this December, connecting communities to mini-grants, support systems, and mitigation tactics. This large body was only possible thanks to engagement with community members & neighbors, and strategic insight from leading regional voices in sustainability, labor, and manufacturing.

Those conversations culminated in the draft Appalachian Manufacturing Action Plan. A master document that will serve as a road map for leveraging the best of our region’s workforce, assets, and innovation for the 21st Century sustainable economy Appalachia deserves!
